Optical Alignment Specialists are an integral part of our I&I field teams. Precision optical alignments of antenna reflector surfaces, vertical structures, shaft alignments, bull-gears, telescope mirror shaping servo devices, etc. are critical to the operation, accuracy, and overall quality of the finished earth station antenna. Alignment specialists must have a minimum of 5 years practical experience, with a demonstrated knowledge of specific alignment products and tooling. A practical demonstration on setup, operation, troubleshooting, and data reduction is required prior to any candidate consideration.

Assisting in the mechanical assembly and installation of large earth station satellite antennas (4.5 through 34 meter antennas). The job requires proven practical experience in one or more of the following specialties:

• Skilled & practical experience with commercial grade hand & power tools such as Torque Multipliers, Impact Wrenches, Sawzalls etc.
• Iron working and rigging experience.
• Cable pulling and handling.
• Fiber Terminations.
• RF Cable terminations.
• Theodolite optical alignment instruments.
• Simple electrical wiring (3 wire L, N, G and 3 Phase 4 Wire for motors).
• Electronics troubleshooting.
• Rack assembly, integration, wire terminations, and power-up with the ability to troubleshoot faults through experience, documentation, and schematics.
• Experience in RF Test & Measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters.
• Terminate DB-9 and DB-25 connectors both solder and Mil-Spec crimp style, as well as troubleshoot wiring issues with the assistance of prints, schematics and product documentation.
• Computer literacy mandatory, and Microsoft Office applications are used on a day to day basis.
• Ability to fill out paperwork, reports, daily logs, expense reports, trouble reports, and file them electronically with the Parity office.

This position requires both Domestic and International Travel, and is 99.9% in the field. Projects average anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months. The Technician, while out on a project, will work a mandatory 60 hour work week, Monday thru Saturday 10 hours per day (20 hours OT per week @ 1.5 x the hourly wage). When the projects are complete, unless there is a local installation that requires staffing, the Technician will be considered off-duty and not compensated while not on a project.

Provide technical leadership and Subject Matter Expertise during earth station RF verification testing & system commissioning, antenna control systems installation, integration & optimization; system planning, site surveys, development & implementation for terminals ranging from 1.2m VSAT to 31m Intelsat Standard-A earth stations.

Generate application specific test procedures for RF performance, mechanical validation, antenna control system acceptance, and other sub-system specification performance verification.

Utilize all RF and electronic test equipment to include Spectrum Analyzers, Scalar Network Analyzers, Vector Network Analyzers, Microwave Test Sets, Power Meters, etc. Perform sub-reflector optimization at L, C, X, Ku, Ka & Q-band, and perform antenna RF verification testing, G/Ts (Radio Star, Y’ Factors), System alignments and RF performance testing to include Gain/Slope, TOIs, PIMs, Phase Noise, Amplitude Response, Compression, Implementation Loss, VSWR & Insertion Loss, as well as Fiber optic insertion losses & OTDR fault isolation.

Perform installation & integration, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and repair of satellite antennas of all sizes, uplink & downlink equipment, servo and control systems, as well as antenna sub-systems and components.

Antenna Control Systems Specialists will assist with installation & integration of terminal ACS systems. Site surveys for Radeus Labs ACS retrofits, then system verification, conversion, set-up and commissioning will be the primary tasks. Additionally, on occasion, some field support service will be required, as well support all of our Radeus Labs sales well-beyond factory warranty runs out.
