For nearly 30 years, I’ve worked in the SATCOM ground segment field—surveying, installing, aligning, commissioning, and supporting antenna systems around the world. In that time, I’ve seen a lot of control systems come and go. Some are bulletproof. Some are beautiful. Some are a nightmare. And some fall somewhere in the middle.
Having personally sold, installed, and supported literally millions of dollars worth of Radeus Labs Antenna Control Systems products, We’d like to offer an honest and informed perspective—based not on marketing slides, but on direct field experience across a wide range of operational environments.
This is not a promotional blog post. This is a field-driven, SATCOM engineering reality check.
The Short Version: Is Radeus Labs Right for You?
Let’s be clear:
Radeus Labs ACS products are not the right solution for every antenna or every customer.
For some clients and link types, they’re a very good fit. For others, I’ve seen better options. The key is application fit—and that’s where Parity Global can help guide you.
Field Experience: What’s Good, What’s Not
The Good:
-
Radeus Labs Antenna Control Systems are competitively priced, and the basic ACS (the 8000 Series) is compact, and integrator‑friendly.
-
Their technical support and engineering teams are generally responsive, collaborative, and eager to fix issues, though we’ve noticed that responsiveness dwindle over the lat few years.
-
In receive-only or less demanding antenna environments, the 8200 ACS can deliver strong value and performance.
-
Their systems can be a viable alternative to aging legacy control systems that are no longer supported.
The Bad:
-
These systems aren’t designed by antenna manufacturers—they often miss key behavioral characteristics of RF and mechanical systems.
-
The need to explain core Tx/Rx feed functionality to the Radeus team who surprisingly seem to be unfamiliar at times. That’s not a great sign when we’re dealing with mission-critical link paths.
-
The software still has gaps and logic issues, even after multiple product revisions.
-
For high-performance, Dual Motor per Axis and full-motion, transmit-capable systems, in our experience, they may fall short without heavy field-side compensation and support.
Honest Broker, Not a Pitchman
I’m not here to sell you on Radeus.
In fact, I’ll be the first to talk you out of it if it’s the wrong fit.
But if you’re dealing with:
-
End-of-life legacy ACS
-
Budget constraints with high-reliability requirements
-
**Receive-only, C-Band terminals
-
An antenna in a difficult location or a constrained footprint
…then maybe Radeus Labs is worth considering—with the right guidance.
Let’s Talk — Parity Application Engineers Are Here to Help
While Parity Global has sold and integrated Millions of Dollars (USD) in Radeus Labs Antenna Control Systems, this is a very small portion of our business revenue, and company purpose. Don’t buy an ACS just because someone says “It can do everything better than the other guy.” You wont ever hear that from us. Radeus may be a great fit for your specific application, but maybe it isn’t.
Call Parity Global. Let’s talk about your antenna, your link performance goals, and whether a Radeus Labs ACS makes sense or not. Maybe we’ll recommend a CPI product, or a ViaSat, or other branded control system that we’ve worked with. Just don’t go for Radeus until you’ve done your homework and have gotten Parity’s first-hand, real world experience on the “Goods” and the “Bads” from the systems we’ve fielded. Parity has recently gone Neutral on Radeus Labs control systems products as a blanket go-to.
We’ll walk you through options—honestly, objectively, and technically.
Why Listen to Us?
Because:
-
We’ve sold and integrated millions in Radeus Labs ACS hardware
-
We’ve seen what works, what doesn’t, and how to fix it
-
We’re not just resellers—we’re SATCOM field engineers who build, test, and commission end-to-end ground systems
-
We support antennas from CPI, GDST, Vertex, RSI, and many others
-
We don’t oversell—we deliver.
Whether you’re in defense, commercial broadcast, telco infrastructure, or global operations—Parity Global is your honest SATCOM integrator.
